Barbet Club of Great Britain A.G.M. 2017.
The Annual General Meeting of the Barbet Club of Great Britain was held on Saturday 6th May 2017 at Calley Memorial Hall, Draycott Road, Chiseldon, Swindon, Wiltshire.
Considerable administrative progress has been made by the new committee including re-writing the constitution, drawing up accounts, updating membership, publishing a Breeding Charter, writing and publishing a health policy (available on the website) and the inclusion of a health form on the website to allow owners to submit any concerns or issues.
Wendy and Julian Preston's success in establishing the breed in the UK was acknowledged and proposals for promoting the breed further were discussed. It was agreed that attendance at events nationally was important and it was suggested that it would be very helpful if owners could submit any photographs of their dog attending shows or events if they are happy for those photographs to be used for publicity purposes. Wendy Preston has been accepted on the Assured Breeder Scheme and discussions regarding recognition by the Kennel Club continue.
The meeting was followed by a picnic and walk at Barbury Castle Country Park
